TrueFire

In February 2020 the online guitar lesson platform TrueFire experienced a significant data breach. The incident involved the unauthorized access and disclosure of sensitive user information from the company database. The breach exposed personal details of approximately 600000 registered members. The compromised data included full names email addresses physical mailing addresses and account balance information. Crucially the leak also contained user passwords stored as unsalted MD5 hashes which are highly vulnerable to cracking and exploitation by malicious actors.
