In 2023 a massive database titled Turkey101 was circulated on darknet forums containing sensitive personal information of approximately 101 million citizens of Turkey. This data breach is considered one of the largest in the history of the country and appears to contain aggregated records from various government and public sources. The leaked dataset includes highly sensitive credentials such as national identification numbers and residential addresses. Security researchers suggest the data was likely compiled over time through multiple vulnerabilities in public infrastructure or government portals and then consolidated into a single massive file for distribution on hacking forums.
