In February 2024 the Russian online retailer UltraTrade experienced a significant data breach. An unauthorized third party successfully compromised the stores database and leaked multiple tables containing sensitive customer information. The exposed data includes personal details from order histories reviews and payment transactions. Investigation revealed that approximately 400000 records were published online. The most critical aspect of this leak is that user passwords were stored in plaintext format making them immediately accessible to malicious actors alongside contact information and IP addresses.
