Underworld Empire

In April 2017 the official discussion forum for the mobile game Underworld Empire suffered a significant data breach. The incident resulted in the exposure of approximately 429 thousand user accounts. The compromised information included sensitive details such as email addresses, internal usernames, IP addresses, and salted MD5 password hashes. This data later surfaced on various dark web hacking forums in February 2018 where it was widely distributed among cybercriminals. The breach highlights the vulnerability of legacy forum software and the risks associated with weak hashing algorithms like MD5.
