In late 2020 the Russian micro mobility service URent experienced a significant data breach resulting in the exposure of its user database. The incident involved the publication of sensitive information on dark web forums. The leaked dataset contained records for approximately 380000 users including their contact details and technical information about their mobile devices. Beyond user profiles the breach also impacted various internal service tables and transactional logs related to payments and rental history revealing vulnerabilities in the platforms storage infrastructure.
