Utah Gun Exchange

In July 2020 the online firearms marketplace Utah Gun Exchange suffered a significant data breach that affected approximately 235 thousand users. The incident involved the unauthorized access and subsequent sale of a database containing sensitive user information. The compromise extended to several related sites under the same management. Leaked data included personal identifiers and security credentials which were later discovered being traded on various underground hacking forums and darknet marketplaces. The breach highlighted vulnerabilities in the platforms storage of user credentials and connection logs.
