In April 2019 the Russian investment and trading platform Utmagazine suffered a data breach. The incident resulted in the unauthorized exposure of personal information belonging to approximately 28000 users. The leaked database contained sensitive details including email addresses, phone numbers, full names, and physical addresses. Furthermore, user passwords were compromised although they were stored as Bcrypt hashes which provides a higher level of security compared to plain text. The data appeared on various underground forums and public repositories shortly after the compromise.
