In December 2022 the Russian grocery retailer VkusVill confirmed a data breach affecting its customers after a portion of its database was leaked online. The incident involved unauthorized access to internal systems resulting in the exposure of customer personal information and transaction details. The leaked data included telephone numbers email addresses order history with total amounts and the last four digits of payment cards. The company stated the breach was caused by an exploit of a vulnerability in an external service and took measures to close the security gap immediately after discovery.
