A database involving approximately 9 million records linked to Vodafone Ukraine customers surfaced in June 2022. Although the data pertains to mobile subscribers, security researchers suggest the actual source of the compromise may have been a private banking institution or a financial services partner rather than the telecom infrastructure itself. The leaked information is highly sensitive, including full names, dates of birth, residential addresses, and national passport details. This incident represents a significant privacy risk to Ukrainian citizens given the nature of the identifying documents exposed during the conflict period.
