In late 2022 a significant data breach occurred at the Russian online store Voen-Torg which specializes in military gear and apparel. The incident resulted in the unauthorized exposure of a database containing customer profiles and detailed order histories. Investigations revealed that the leaked files included sensitive personal information of approximately 36000 registered users and records for 55000 individual orders. The breach compromised authentication security as it contained passwords stored in MD5 with salt and Bcrypt hash formats. The leaked data surfaced on various underground forums and data sharing platforms shortly after the initial compromise was detected.
