In 2018 the Ukrainian telecommunications provider Volia experienced a significant data breach. An unauthorized party gained access to the customer database of the volia.com portal. The incident resulted in the exposure of personal information belonging to approximately 89 thousand subscribers. The leaked data included full names of clients along with their contact details such as email addresses and phone numbers. Additionally physical residential addresses associated with the accounts were compromised during this security failure. The breach highlighted vulnerabilities in the infrastructure of one of the largest cable and internet service providers in the region.
