In early 2013 the open source CRM provider VTiger experienced a security incident where an attacker gained unauthorized access to the customer database. The breach occurred due to a vulnerability in the customer portal which allowed the extraction of user data. The leaked information included sensitive account details and credentials. Following the discovery the company reset all user passwords and implemented stronger encryption protocols to secure the platform against future unauthorized access attempts.
