Warmane

In late 2016 the large scale private World of Warcraft server host known as Warmane suffered a significant data breach. The incident led to the exposure of approximately 1.1 million user accounts. The compromise involved the extraction of sensitive database records including account credentials and personal identifiers. Investigations suggest the breach likely occurred due to vulnerabilities within the forum or account management systems of the platform which at the time was a popular destination for the gaming community. The exposed data was subsequently distributed within underground hacking forums and public leak repositories.
