Webkinz

In April 2020 the popular childrens online gaming site Webkinz suffered a massive data breach involving approximately 23 million user accounts. An anonymous hacker managed to exploit a vulnerability in the web application and gain unauthorized access to the database. The exposed data included unique usernames and passwords hashed with the MD5crypt algorithm. The breach was later shared on a popular hacking forum making the details of millions of young users accessible to cybercriminals.
