In November 2022 the Russian electric scooter rental service Whoosh experienced a significant data breach. An unauthorized party gained access to the company systems resulting in the exposure of millions of user records. The leaked dataset includes personal contact information and partial payment details specifically indicating whether a bank card was linked to the account. Whoosh officially confirmed the incident stating that the leak was caused by a cyberattack but emphasized that full sensitive financial data such as complete card numbers or CVV codes remained secure.
