In July 2015 the popular online game WildStar suffered a significant data breach affecting its IP.board community forum. The incident exposed sensitive information of over 738000 registered users. The compromised data was subsequently discovered being traded within the darknet community and underground hacking forums. The breach occurred due to vulnerabilities in the forum software which allowed unauthorized access to the backend database containing user credentials and personal details.
