Xbox360 ISO

In September 2015 the popular Xbox360 ISO community forum suffered a significant security breach. An unauthorized party managed to gain access to the underlying database resulting in the exposure of approximately 1.2 million user accounts. The compromised data included sensitive information such as email addresses and IP addresses as well as passwords stored as MD5 hashes with salts. This incident highlighted vulnerabilities in forum software and the risks associated with legacy hashing algorithms used for credential storage in gaming communities during that period.
