In early 2019 the gaming community website XiledGaming suffered a significant data breach. The incident resulted in the exposure of user account details from their forum database. The leaked information included sensitive credentials such as email addresses and IP addresses. Most critically the breach contained user passwords stored as MD5 hashes which are highly vulnerable to cracking. The scale of the exposure affected over one hundred thousand members of the community who used the platform for online gaming networking and forum discussions.
