Xyya.net

In February 2023 the Russian image hosting and community platform xyya.net suffered a significant data breach. An unauthorized third party successfully compromised the database and extracted information belonging to approximately 432 thousand registered users. The leaked data includes email addresses, usernames, and IP addresses. Furthermore, user passwords were exposed in the form of MD5 hashes which are considered cryptographically weak and susceptible to cracking. The incident was part of a larger campaign targeting various Russian web resources during this period.
