Yappy

In November 2022 a data breach occurred involving the Russian vertical video platform Yappy which is part of the Gazprom Media holding. The incident led to the exposure of a database containing user registration details. The leak was reportedly caused by unauthorized access to the service infrastructure. The exposed data included millions of phone numbers along with names and email addresses. Although some password hashes were part of the dump the primary risk involves targeted phishing and social engineering attacks against the affected user base.
