In late May 2013 the popular Russian gaming and hacking community forum YouHack.ru suffered a significant data breach. An unauthorized party gained access to the backend database resulting in the public exposure of sensitive user credentials. The incident affected over one million registered members. The compromised data included internal forum identifiers and security credentials stored as salted hashes. This breach was widely circulated within the darknet and underground hacking circles shortly after the incident occurred.
