About this leak

In February 2019 the live streaming service YouNow suffered a major data exposure when a database containing millions of user records was put up for sale on the darknet. The incident involved the exposure of account identifiers and personal details of users who utilized the platform for video broadcasting. The breach occurred because data was scraped or extracted from the service systems. While the platform uses third party social media authentication which prevented password exposure the leaked data allowed for significant user tracking and profiling across different social networks.
