In February 2012 the adult entertainment website YouPorn suffered a significant security breach that compromised the personal information of over one million users. The incident occurred due to an insecurely stored chat database that was publicly exposed. Hackers successfully accessed and leaked sensitive data including email addresses and passwords stored in plain text format. This exposure posed a high risk of account takeover and credential stuffing attacks across other platforms where users might have reused the same credentials.
