In February 2022 reports emerged regarding a cyberattack on the Russian online pharmacy service ZdravCity. Although initial claims were denied by the company the subsequent publication of the database confirmed a massive security breach. The incident exposed sensitive personal information of millions of customers including contact details and physical locations of preferred pharmacies. The data was likely obtained through an unauthorized access to the backend systems or an unsecured database. This leak represents one of the largest retail healthcare data exposures in the region for that year posing significant risks for targeted phishing and social engineering attacks.
