A data breach occurred at the Surgut College of Russian Culture named after A.S. Znamensky on July 28 2022. The incident involved the unauthorized exposure of the website database which was running on the WordPress platform. The leak affected approximately 1300 registered users. The compromised data included personal identifiers such as usernames and email addresses along with security credentials stored as PHPASS hashes which are standard for WordPress installations. This type of hash is vulnerable to brute force attacks if the passwords were weak.
